Ingredients for Gingerbread Cookie Recipe

   6 cups all-purpose flour
   1 tablespoon baking powder
   1 tablespoon ground ginger
   1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
   1 teaspoon ground cloves
   1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
   1 cup shortening
   1 cup molasses
   1 cup packed brown sugar
   1/2 cup water
   1 egg
   1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions for Gingerbread Cookie Recipe

- In a bowl, mix together the baking powder, flour, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves
- In a seperate bowl, add the shortening, water, molasses, vanilla, egg, and brown sugar
- Add the dry ingredients into the egg mixture
- Pat the gingerbread cookie dough down and refrigerate for 2-3 hours
- Turn the oven on to 350 degrees
- Cut the cookie dough into gingerbread shapes
- Bake for 10 minutes
